golf
Arran boasts no fewer than six golf courses. They vary
in length and the degree of difficulty, but all have
beautiful views. The 12-hole seaside links Shishkine
Golf Club at nearby Blackwaterfoot overlooks the Kilbranen
sound with magnificent views to the Mull of Kintyre.
It has the distinction of being ranked as one of the
top 100 golf courses in Britain. For more information

swimming
If the weather is very warm and/or you are feeling brave,
you can swim from a range of nearby sandy beaches (highly
recommended: Blackwaterfoot, Cleats Shore (near Lagg),
Machrie and Whiting Bay). If it rains, however, and
you are looking for some indoor exercise, head either
for the Kinloch Hotel at Blackwaterfoot or the Auchranie
in Brodick. Both have pleasant and competitively-priced
indoor pools with sauna/steam room facilities open to
non-residents.

at the Auchranie Hotel in Brodick. Costs are very reasonable.
